Five-Track Feature: Julio Bashmore

Introducing a new segment here at Suprima, the Five-Track Feature. Posts like these will shine the spotlight on five tracks that either define an artist's sound or are just brilliant through and through.

For our very first Five-Track Feature, I'd like to introduce you to Bristol house boss Julio Bashmore. Mr. Bashmore is a true diamond in the over-saturated rough of the British house scene, combining iconic Bristol bass with innovative samples to create some insanely catchy tracks. I had the great pleasure and privilege of catching Julio's Coachella set this year, and if you ever have the opportunity to see this legend live I highly recommend that you seize it... You won't be disappointed. Here are five tracks that I feel represent Julio's unique sound and are just plain incredible.

"Au Seve" was the first release on Broadwalk Records, Julio's own label, and it's a brilliant example of his production style.

My favorite Bashmore track. You won't be able to resist the rhythm.

"Around" is one of Bashmore's best Deep House tracks, showcasing a different and calmer aspect of his production abilities.

"Footsteppin'" is exactly what it sounds like... A frantic mix of choppy samples over melodically thumping Bristol bass.

Finally, "Jack Got Macked" samples Rhythm Control's "My House" to create a truly sublime track. Enjoy.
