Finally! Blasterjaxx’s “Snake,” in true form, is finally set to be released on November 15th through Dim Mak, and the label is being cool enough (or sure enough that this banger will still shake Beatport top spots) to give us the full version two days in advance. An abstracted version of the track had been floating around the internet for a couple of months, and the Dutch duo made it clear that the track and the accompanying artwork which illustrated a Spinnin’ Records logo were both inauthentic.
If you heard a monster smash at any big festival towards the latter part of summer and couldn’t identify who or what it was, it was probably a Blasterjaxx production. Even before their highly acclaimed “Fifteen,” which is featured on Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings, Thom and idir of Blasterjaxx have had dance music bloggers going crazy with seemingly banger after banger, with no real word about a release date or label. We imagine that top labels are still battling for the rights to many of their tracks as we speak.
In describing Blastrjaxx’s sound and the belly-dance vibe of “Snake,” other DJ duos such as Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike come to mind. There’s been an uproar of tribal rythms in the electro-house scene, and you’ll find that no one does it better than Blasterjaxx. They manage to couple unique melodies with heaviness, giving us more than just a bass centric drop. Enjoy the infectious sounds of “Snake” below and look out for more releases from Blasterjaxx in the near future.
